EPISODE 362: Do You Drink Too Much?

That glass of red wine after dinner soon turns into two or three. On Friday and Saturday, two or three often turns into a bottle or two. After a decade or more of drinking, it’s not uncommon to clock in 30+ drinks per week. It creeps up slowly, so it can almost go unnoticed. But your body, mind, and spirit notice, and it has a real impact.

Annie Grace : This Naked Mind : Changing My Relationship With Alcohol

This Naked Mind works by ending the conflict between your conscious desire to drink less, and your unconscious belief that alcohol is beneficial. Annie Grace grew up in a one-room log cabin without running water or electricity outside of Aspen, Colorado. She discovered a passion for marketing and after graduating with a Masters of Science (Marketing) she dove into corporate life. At the age of 26, Annie was the youngest vice president in a multinational company, and her drinking career began in earnest.

Liminal Thinking: The Key to Unlocking Your Unconscious Mind

Your unconscious mind is responsible for your desires. Book Review – Control Alcohol – This Naked Mind By Annie Grace

As a recovering alcoholic I found this book to be an interesting read. Author Annie Grace makes some valid and interesting observations. I certainly would not replace AA or 12 step programs, nor would I recommend this book as the road to recovery, but I WOULD suggest that this book be read by anyone who thinks they may have a problem with alcohol consumption.

Want a mind-blowing orgasm? Ditch the booze

Sex and alcohol have a funny relationship. On one hand, alcohol seems key to overcome the inhibitions we have in the bedroom, but on the other hand, one of alcohol’s primary physiological effects is to dull your senses – including your sense of touch. Studies have shown that drinking may increase urges but once the action begins, sexual performance and sensory pleasure actually decrease.

Recovery Profile

I was sitting at the train station deep under Heathrow airport in London. I’d been drinking vodka and O.J. before the taxi to the airport to take the edge off my awful hangover which was the result of a week of super late night drinks with colleagues.
